Update on the card access
I really wish to look forward to the early implementation of the card access and the CCTV security system for Prima. But then I do not control the destiny here. We are are the lords without any management power. We face a little setback in dealing with the management. Initially, we were told that thay had no objection over our proposal but now we were told that they need to have the majority consent of the owners before they would carry out the implementation. I guess they just wanted to play safe and avoid any problems with owners who are not aware of this implementation. One thing for sure, we would be a little inconvenienced because we would have to carry the cards around. There would be no two ways about it. A little sacrifice would have to be made for the sake of our safety.
I think it is a blessing in disguise for the R.A. The R.A. does not represent all the owners here . Some owners may have doubts or negative views over the system. They may not like to be inconvenienced. It is naive to think that 790 owners would have the same views. So, I guess the best way to resolve the problem is to get the consent of the majority of the owners here. In whatever disagreement, we have to accept the decision of the majority. This is what democracy is all about.
Now, the R.A.'s headache is how to go about getting the consent of the owners here. Holding a meeting will be out of question because the turnout would be bad. This is the usual case. Instead of getting the owners to meet us, I guess we would have to go to them. Therefore, I think the best way is to carry out a door to door signature campaign. I had done it once. I would do it again if it is necessary. I may have to discuss this with my committee in the coming committee meeting which will be held on Tuesday. I shall brief you all on the outcome of the meeting.
Goodnight and have a nice day!

We will support fully the signature campaign as we wish the card access system to be impletemented soonest possible .
Good morning to our great Prima Residents,
Just to share my views here.
I totally agree to have the card access system implemented in Prima. However, some points for us to ponder to implement the project successfully? (Not necessary to reply my comment)
i) How we ensure the signature campaign is carry out in a fair,no unduely influence and unbiased manner?
ii) How transparent should it be?
iii) How we calculate the majority? Who will involve in the counting of majority?
iv) What is number of card per unit? --- If a unit has tanant more than the card limit, can the unit apply for additional card, subject to term and condition. (to be fair to all tenants, owners and families).
Safety first.... i enjoy living in Prima... hope you share the same feeling as me.
I hope these may help.
Thank you.
World is not perfect...
The signatures would have to come from the owners or their reps. Tenants can act as proxies with consents from their landlords. As regards to the numbers of cards to be given, we shall work it out with the management.
The R.A.'s duty is to collect the signatures. We shall hand it over to the management when the task is done. The final decision lies with the management. We would not go to the extend of planting ghost signatures into list . We shall go for a majority consent. Should we fail to do it, I would not persist with the implementation.
Tenants to act as proxies ? I personally don't think this is very meaningful for the campaign .
Tenants mostly students may not very interested in card access system .What they want is the convenience for them ( and their friends ).Security to them is not their priorities due to various reasons eg term of staying , valuables etc.
to 'block a resident',
in respond to your previous comment, i shall advice you to not speculate the student tenants in prima setapak as a bunch of 'convenience seekers'. there are a number of us who wanted this card access system to be implemented in order to improve the security conditions in prima setapak eventhough we are merely 'tenants'.
