Inland security guards
The deputy minister , Encik Johari Baharum mentioned in a newspaper report that the security companies can only hire foreign guards who are from Nepal. According to him these guards are known for their bravery, discipline and loyalty. I presumed that he did not go down to the ground to find out what these nepalese guards are really like. I am very sure he was not aware that there are two classes of nepalese guards. One is the gurkhas and the other is the imitation gurkhas. The real gurkhas are ex-soldiers. They went through a lot of hardship to become soldiers. They are the no nonsense type. They cannot be intimidated by anyone. Rules are rules to them. If the guards that we are having here are gurkhas, we are in safe hands. Desa Parkcity is looked after by the gurkhas. But unfortunately, the nepalese guards that we are having here are definitely the imitation gurkhas. They are not alert, do not know how to enforce the rules, ignorant, shy and worst of all , they are not able to communicate with the residents. If the company is serious in providing security services to Prima, they should not have appointed the above old man to be the chief for the night shift. I spoke to him. He didn't seem to know anything about Prima.
The chairman gave me a call. I told him about the situation we are in. According to the notice, they were supposed to replace the UOA guards with professional guards. If these guards are professional, they should be able to stand on their own. They should know their scope of work. They should come out proper procedures for the visitors. Instead, they have to be guided by the UOA senior security guards. I, myself have to tell them what they have to do. Are we paying them to be educated at Prima? The chairman suggested to me to carry out a signature campaign which the previous committee carried out once to stop the management from replacing the UOA guards. I proposed that we hold a committee to deliberate on the matter before we decide on the next course of action. We do not wish to be taken for a ride. We don't even know how much we are paying for these so called professional guards.

It sounds totally like a nonsense to carry out a signature campaign just to replace the security guards as suggested by the chairperson. If doing so...why change the guards at the first place? UOA guards were fine by then. What is he thinking when deciding to change the guards? And now he's suggesting to hold a signature campaign for it. Things are already ok before this.
I've seen the guard letting outside cars who are without the resident cards to be scanned coming into Prima at around 12:30am in the morning. The guard didin't even request for identification. And I thought outside cars without stickers are not allowed to come in after 12am.
As for other stuffs, I guess the residents are more clear seeing it themself. It won't be long for outsiders to realize about the weak security in Prima and tries to take advantage from it.
yes, this new security doesn't care about our security. Why UOA change them in the first place?

are u guys here retarded? it is not UOA or Mr.See who joined in the effort to switch to the new guards. It is in fact the NEW CHAIRPERSON who made the sole decision when conducting a meeting and not really informing the committees about it. Read the blog entries before posting up comments la!!!
It's dats Management which made the decision to replace the guards. Not the new chairperson or the committee.
ok, i believe we all still haven't heard anything from the new chairman ... this is the main reason i suggested that the new chairman be made the second contributor to this blog ... so that we can measure his capabilities and contributions ... fair right?
now, i would like to bring up another issue concerning the door access card ...
has anyone thought of the option to have the door access card and the car access card separated? why am i saying this? i think we (at least me) should be allowed to have the "option" to carry 2 cards separately - one for door access and car access ...
of course carrying 1 card is easier and convenience but before you jump into the bandwagon and attack me, consider this:
- i had nightmares with the pathetic quality of the car access card to which i had changed twice within my 4-years stay here ... as comparison i've been using my company's access card for more than 5-years without a glitch ... and if this is not about quality, i don't know what ...
- of course i had (forced) to pay for my first car access card replacement to DATS because the lady down there keep on saying it was my negligence in handling the card to which i had argued with her for hours ... she even suggested that i put it into washing machine and that's why it spoilt ... consider this: the access card never left my pocket except when i went to bed, so you tell me how can i be to negligent in handling it ...
- my second replacement (car+door access) occured recently, the card just won't work and this time i wasn't made to pay (must be my lucky day huh?) ... but then you still do not know the quality of it till it refuse to be scanned one of this day ...
- HOWEVER, we know we'r being given 4 free door access cards (normal unit condo) and by the "mandatory" 2-in-1 integration into the card, i'm putting 2 egss in a basket ... if the access card (car+door) is of low quality and if the lady down there insist (she has the final say, dude) that it's your negligence, what will happen?
You have to pay not only for the "car access card" but also the "door access card" ASSUMING you've used up all the 4-free-cards priviledge ... do you follow me so far?
yes, you've 1 physical card but if something happen, you are paying twice since there're 2 functions in it ...
so i think the option to have the "door access" function integrated into the "car access" card should be made "OPTIONAL" - for those who do not mind the trouble of carrying 2 cards ...
from the security point of view, having the door access and car access separated makes sense ... just imagine you lost your card (car+door) and if someone get hold of it, he/she will not only be able to gain access to your car but also to your own unit ...
but if you only lost the car access card, at least there's another level of protection which can prevent the intruder from accessing your unit (and potentially harm your family members) since the intruder doesn't have door access ...
so, i hope mr see will not delete this post but publish it and bring this issue up to the DATS as it seems DATS doesn't really care to listen to individual voice ...
please let us have the OPTION of having 2 separate cards - car access and door access (please don't confuse this with the second and subsequent door access cards which has ONLY door access functionality) ...
furthermore, DATS might be MAKING EXTRA MONEY by giving 1 less card to us ...
